The Eye Behind RicSpoon Photography

Meet Ric

Hi, I’m Richard, the photographer and creative mind behind RicSpoon Photography. I was born in Baltimore and have had a passion for photography since my early 20s. My journey began long before digital cameras were everywhere—while serving in the military, I worked in radiography and lived in Germany, where I first learned how to develop film in a traditional darkroom. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for light, detail, and the storytelling power of a single image.

Photographer with Heart

In the early 2000s, after my kids were born, photography became my way of documenting life as it unfolded—capturing everyday moments, growth, and milestones as digital photography was just beginning to take hold. In 2014, I purchased my first bridge camera, a Nikon Coolpix, which reignited my creative drive and pushed me to explore photography more intentionally. In March 2024, I made the move to a mirrorless camera and began pursuing photography seriously as both a craft and a business.

Your Story, Beautifully Told

Today, RicSpoon Photography is built on the belief that great photos should feel natural, personal, and meaningful. I specialize in portraits and visual storytelling that reflect who you truly are—whether that’s an individual, a family, or a brand. As a new entrepreneur, I bring both dedication and attention to every client, focusing on quality, communication, and a relaxed experience from start to finish. My goal is simple: to create images you’ll be proud to share and look back on for years to come.

Why Prints?

Because the best images deserve to live off-screen.

Personal Value

Intention

Every image is created with purpose — from how it’s framed to how it will ultimately be displayed. I photograph with the finished artwork in mind, not just the moment itself.

Craft

Quality matters. From thoughtful composition to archival printing, I approach every step of the process with care and attention to detail so your images are built to last.

Experience

Your session should feel guided, relaxed, and meaningful. I lead you through the process so creating artwork for your home or business feels effortless and enjoyable.
